D's Wicked Cider out of Kennewick, Washington had only one cider on tap for the tasting. It was their Baked Apple Cider. The tagline on their brochure states "Baked Apple is Grandma's Apple Pie without the crust, " and the cider really came through on that promise. It's a cloudy golden color, and you can smell the sweetness right off the bat. The flavor was homey and delicious, and would make a great pairing with a sharp or tart cheese course. It's got layers of flavor including the apple, spices, and sweetness, and is very drinkable. However, coming in with an ABV of 8.5%, it's more of an aperetif or small portion drink, rather than something you can spend an evening drinking. Definitely recommend this tasty new kid on the block.
