Cider Bite - Tasting Flight
First visit to Cider Bite. They have a cool Flight Boarding Pass for notes and ratings for your chosen ciders. They also have a good selection of food to choose from. I had a chicken quesadilla with black beans and cheese. The service was great, and the server was knowledgeable about ciders.
While I waited for my friend, I started out the evening with a pint of Bad Granny Black Currant. It's made in Chelan, WA and 6.9% ABV. It has a pale pink color, and was lightly tart, crisp and refreshing. The cider maker used to make wines and it was easy to tell with this complex cider.
Tasting Flight:
1. New West -Black & Blue Cider. 6.8% ABV. Mellow with a rich berry flavor.
2. Locust Cider - Vanilla Bean, 5.0% ABV. Pale gold color, and very vanilla flavor.
3. Bandon Rain - Cranberry Squall, 6.7% ABV. Deep red color, on the sweeter side for a cranberry cider.
4. Incline - Compass Rose Hibiscus, 6.5% ABV. Dry cider, with hints of the floral from the Hibiscus.
5. New West - Pomegranate, 6.4% ABV. Light red in color. Very tasty.
6. Wildcraft - Strawberry Spruce Tip, 6.3% ABV.
Then I also sampled my friend's selections:
7. New West - Ginger
8. Bauman's Cider - Rhubarb. Not too tart for a rhubarb cider.
9. Ace - Perry
