Location: Bushwhacker Brooklyn Bartender: Luke Fenton (Thistly Cross)

Cider Notes: Thistly Cross (Scottish) and JK’s Cider (Michigan) Tasting. This was quite a major event, that included a Bagpiper performing in a kilt and tam, two cideries for the tasting, and a Haggis made by The Brooklyn House Restaurant to bring more of the Scottish Culture to go with the Scottish ciders.
Thistly Cross Traditional Cider, 6.2% ABV, mellow, apple scent.
Thistly Cross Whisky Cask Cider, smooth flavor, aged for 6 months in Whisky casks.
Thistly Cross Real Ginger Cider, 4% ABV, gingery, but not too spicy. It’s a nice overall flavor blend.
JK Perry The Pair, apples and organic pears, bottle conditioned.
JK Northern Neighbor, Service Berries / Saskatoon Berries from an 1870’s Farm in Canada.
Blue Mountain Cherry, 6.5% ABV.
Bull Run Hops, 6.7% ABV, clear pale, gold color, citrusy hops, crisp and refreshing.
Duche de Longueville Muscadet – made in France, 7% ABV, deep gold color, rish apple scent, deep rich flavor. Very appley, and not too sweet.
Sanford Cider, 5.6% ABV, made in England, light gold color, cloudy, very yeasty, tart and dry. I experienced a weird aftertaste with this one.
