Cider Notes: Alpenfire Double Release Tasting
Bushwhacker Choo Choo Choose Me, 6.7% ABV, made with Manchurian Crabapple and Mountain Rose Apples. Cherry was added post-fermentation and gives the cider a rosy-golden color. Sweet cherry tang in the finish.
2013 Alpenfire Smoke - light gold color, super rich taste, like a pommeau or brandywine. Smoked notes and a maple nose.
2012 Alpenfire Ember - rich gold color, light and bubbly, semi-dry, slimilar to a champagne and light flavor.
2013 Alpenfire Ember - deep, rich apple scent, deep gold color, lighter flavor than the 2012 and rich taste.
Apple-Walnut Pommeau – only 5 gallons made. 18% ABV, dark and rich mahogany color, experimental cider. Served with walnuts to enhance the flavor of the nuts in the cider. Definitely a dessert wine / brandywine style cider.
2013 Alpenfire Dungeness - light gold color, semi-sweet, similar to Chardonnay with an oaky, full-mouth feel.
2009 Alpenfire Wildfire 7.25% ABV, very pale gold color, slightly astringent nose.
