Finnriver Tasting at Belmont Station
This tasting was one of the 20 Tastings for 20 Years, put together by Belmont Station to celebrate their 20th Anniversary.
We started out with their Golden Russet, 9.2% ABV. It's a blend of Russet Apples, and Estate Fruit, with champagne yeast. It's a pale gold in color.
Cidra Tribute, which is a still cider done in the Spanish Cidra style. It's somewhat sour.
Oak & Apple, a bubbly semi-sweet cider, with a pale-gold color.
Firebarrel Cider, a tribute to Drew Zimmerman, who planted the Finnriver Orchard. This comes in a 750 ml bottle and is one of my favorites. It's aged in whisky barrels.
The Black Currant Cider comes in at 6.5% ABV, and is a deep burgandy in color.
Habanero Cider. Tried a sip or two, but it's too spicy for me to have more. Great flavor overall, though.
Pear Brandywine -
Solstice Saffron, one of their seasonal ciders, made with saffron, anise and fennel.
Cacao Brandywine - this amazing higher ABV beverage is something that I like to call "Nectar of the Gods.: It's an amazing after dinner drink, and goes well with almost anything.
Raspberry Brandywine
Finished out the visit by sharing a Two Rivers, Blackberry Cider. It comes in cans, and is 6.5% ABV. It's a tart cider with a deep red color. Very tasty, and perfect to go with a picnic, as there isn't any glass to worry about breaking!
