The Highland Stillhouse Pub - Thistly Cross

Headed out to Oregon City to meet up with one of my favorite foreign cider makers. Peter Stuart of Thistly Cross in Scotland, UK.

Prior to his arrival, I started out with their Whisky Cask Cider in the bottle. Excellent as usual. I also had some of their sausage pasties. Those were amazing! This was followed by the Thistly Cross Whisky Cask on tap, after they got the keg hooked up at the bar. Once the man of the hour arrived, he brought a little pony keg of a new cider, their Whisky Cask made in Slyrs Whisky barrels. Since he brought them over on his flight, we were the first in the US to get to taste it! Very different from the overall flavor of their prior vintages!

He also poured bottle tastes from their Strawberry Cider, and the Thistly Cross Traditional. The strawberry, is a pale red, and delicious. Perfect for a summer picnic or barbeque.
